The commitments we work by
Clear decisions, visible progress and responsibility for the work. These principles explain what you can expect from us, from the first proposal through handover.
Dear business owner,
When you commission software, you put a part of your business in someone else’s hands. You should be able to understand the decisions, question the plan and see what your investment is producing. You should also know how to keep the work moving if your priorities change.
We want working with Dexcode to feel like an informed conversation. You bring the knowledge of your business; we bring the design and engineering work needed to explore the options and make the agreed solution real. Our responsibility includes saying when a simpler option would serve you better, explaining uncertainty and raising a problem while there is still time to respond.
The principles below describe how we intend to earn that trust in everyday decisions: what we put in a proposal, what we show at a review and what we leave in your hands. They apply whether we are reviewing an existing system, planning a first release or building the next part of your software.
If a decision or part of the work is unclear, tell us. We would rather have the conversation early.

- 01
Start with the work people need to do.
We ask who uses the system, what they need to accomplish and where the current process gets in their way. Existing plans, code and research are useful starting points. Discovery focuses on the gaps that could change the solution.
- 02
Recommend the simplest useful next step.
We compare an existing product, improvements to what you have and a custom build. Sometimes the right answer is a review or a smaller change. We explain the trade-offs and recommend custom development when the benefit justifies building and maintaining it.
- 03
Make the agreement understandable.
Before paid work begins, we agree its scope, outputs and price. Proposals describe what is included, what is outside the scope and which decisions remain open. You have room to question the plan before committing to it.
- 04
Put the assumptions beside the estimate.
We explain what the estimate relies on, including integrations, data, content and decisions from your team. Planning produces the milestone schedule. When an assumption changes, we discuss the effect on cost and timing so you can make an informed choice.
- 05
Show working software during the build.
At the end of each agreed delivery cycle, you review working software and receive a written summary of progress and next steps. Discovery and review engagements have their own agreed outputs and review points. Your feedback informs what happens next.
- 06
Get approval when the scope changes.
New information can change priorities. We explain the effect on scope, schedule and cost, then get your written approval before doing additional work. If the budget or deadline is fixed, we discuss which lower-priority work can wait.
- 07
Check the work before relying on it.
We agree the release checks, test critical workflows and review the software with your team. Integrations and migrations are checked against representative data where relevant. We explain remaining limitations and prepare the handover before the launch decision.
- 08
Keep people responsible for AI.
We evaluate AI against the task and agree what it may read or change. Consequential actions require human approval. Each automation has logs, a named owner, a documented off switch and a planned route for uncertain or failed results.
- 09
Leave the work in your hands.
You own the bespoke code we build. Project accounts are set up in your name, and documentation helps your team or another provider take over. We explain dependencies; third-party software and services retain their own licences and terms.
- 10
Make life after launch part of the plan.
Before handover, we agree who runs and maintains the system. Ongoing support has its own scope, fees and response arrangements. You can work with us, maintain the software internally or choose another provider, with the agreed handover materials to support that choice.
Hold us to these.
Start with a free 30-minute strategy call. Any discovery or build work begins only after you have approved a separate proposal.
